SERVICES

Concerned Citizens of Bradford County (CCBC) is a 501(c)(3) organization serving those youth and their families who are most at risk in Bradford County, Florida.  Members of CCBC participate on many of the organizations that serve at risk children, their families, and older citizens and are involved in a broad range of programs.

The area targeted by CCBC’s services is a predominantly poor, rural location with over one quarter (27%) of the County’s children living below the state poverty level and 57 percent of the district’s students served by the free and reduced lunch (FRL) program.  For many families, education is not a priority; only 10% of Bradford County residents have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, which is less than half of the state norm[1].  Academic performance in grades K-12 has struggled over the years and has consistently ranked in the lowest quartile of the state.  These socio-economic variables combined testify to the need and importance of the program in this community to enhance character development and improve academic performance.
